Mirabell Gardens was a gift from Archbishop Wolf Dietrich of Raitenau to his beloved Salome Alt, displaying his love. Altenau Palace, as Mirabell Palace was named originally, was constructed in 1606 for the couple and their 15 children. Prince Archbishop Franz Anton Prince of Harrach, who had rebuilt Mirabell Palace spaciously from 1721 to 1727 with help of well known baroque architect Lukas of Hildebrandt and it was merged to a closed facility ... Starting from hotel Mozart you can reach Sanatory Garden within three to five minutes, the Garden is only divided by Schwarzstrasse and Salzachkai. Strolling along the pier up to Markartbrücke, it is possible to walk from Landestheater to Mirabell Gardens, which connects again to Sanatory Garden ... Also for joggers a wonderful route, the route can optionally be extended! |
